The Ailsa Craig Arts Centre is delighted to welcome fibre artist, Merry Little, as she shares with us the delightful craft of Shibori Tie Dyeing.
Participants in this class will create a half mandela patterned shawl. (It will need processing for 48 hours so washing and drying to be completed at home).
This will be a wonderfully fun, creative class to enjoy with your teenage daughter, sister, friend or come alone and meet new friends.
A shawl kit will be provided by Merry and will cost $25 payable to teacher on the day of the class.
Students are to bring: Vinyl or rubber gloves, a black plastic bag, a basin or tote to take home wet materials and an old apron. Students are encouraged to wear old clothes in case dye is spilled! Please bring a lunch or sandwiches can be purchased at the Cloverleaf across the road.
Merry Little began working with fibres at the age of 12 years. Upon retirement almost twenty years ago, Merry went further down the fibre rabbit hole and started weaving and spinning. Working with dyes was a natural next step and Merry has taught a number of Shibori classes.
